Employment Opportunities

Raleigh Day School is seeking a Sixth grade class teacher  for the 2025-2026 school year.  Hours of employment are 7:45-3:15.

The ideal candidate will have completed Waldorf teacher training and certification from an AWSNA affiliated program.  

Position responsibilities include:

  • A commitment to implementation of Waldorf pedagogy 
  • A commitment to personal and professional growth
  • A commitment to clear thinking, equanimity, initiative, a positive attitude, open mindedness, attentiveness, harmony, creativity
  • The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of the developmental needs of the school aged student and teaching that reflects those developmental needs
  • The ability to engage students in a creative, inspired educational process
  • Attending weekly faculty meetings

Raleigh Day School is seeking a lead teacher for the Early Childhood program. Hours of employment are 7:45-3:15.

The ideal candidate will have completed Waldorf Early Childhood teacher training and certification or is engaged in Waldorf Early Childhood teacher training in a WECAN affiliated program; will have experience working with young children, possess enthusiasm and motivation to work collaboratively with colleagues, and demonstrates a familiarity and interest in the philosophy and methods of Waldorf Early Childhood Education.

Position responsibilities include:

  • A commitment to clear thinking, equanimity, initiative, a positive attitude, open mindedness, attentiveness, harmony, creativity
  • Working with an integrity worthy of imitation
  • Working to help prepare healthy snacks
  • Maintaining general order and helping to create an esthetically beautiful environment
  • Engaging with students and parents, conflict resolution, communication and day-to-day responsibilities
  • Overseeing children in the play yard, forest, and classroom
  • Assisting children with transitions
  • Guiding children with self-care (toileting, dressing, daily routines)
  • Providing First Aid as necessary
  • Working collaboratively with faculty colleagues
  • Attending weekly faculty meetings

Raleigh Day School is seeking an Early Childhood teaching assistant. This is a part time position.  Hours of employment are 8-12:30   

The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children, possesses enthusiasm and motivation to work collaboratively with colleagues, and demonstrates a familiarity and interest in the philosophy and methods of Waldorf Early Childhood Education.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Working with an integrity worthy of imitation
  • Working to help prepare healthy snacks
  • Maintaining general order and helping to create an esthetically beautiful environment
  • Engaging with students, taking direction from the Lead Teacher regarding classroom management, conflict resolution, communication and day-to-day responsibilities
  • Assisting during all teacher lead activities
  • Overseeing children in the play yard
  • Assisting children with transitions
  • Guiding children with self-care (toileting, dressing, daily routines)
  • Providing First Aid as necessary

Raleigh Day School is seeking an Early Childhood Assistant/Aftercare Lead Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.  Hours of employment are 8:00-5:00.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children, possesses enthusiasm and motivation to work collaboratively with colleagues, and demonstrates a familiarity and interest in the philosophy and methods of Waldorf Early Childhood Education.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Working with an integrity worthy of imitation
  • Working to help prepare healthy snacks
  • Maintaining general order and helping to create an esthetically beautiful environment
  • Engaging with students, taking direction from the Lead Teacher regarding classroom management, conflict resolution, communication and day-to-day responsibilities
  • Assisting during all teacher lead activities
  • Overseeing children in the play yard
  • Assisting children with transitions
  • Guiding children with self-care (toileting, dressing, daily routines)
  • Providing First Aid as necessary

 

  • At 12:15,  begin receiving children for aftercare and prepare for rest time
  • Maintain a quiet, peaceful environment and atmosphere during the rest period, 12:45-1:45.
  • Hand-off children who are dismissed at 2:00 to the dismissal teacher and help those who are staying for extended care to use the bathroom and prepare for snack
  • Receive the grade school children who will join extended aftercare, supervise snack
  • Supervise children cleaning up their snack space
  • Supervise play from 2:30-3:00 (possibly 4:00) for all children in the extended care program.
  • Release children to their parents/guardians at pick-up
  • Make observations of children to share with teachers, including social engagements, behaviors of concern

Raleigh Day School is seeking a Spanish teacher for grades 1-6.  Ten hours per week.

Position responsibilities include: 

  • Provide Spanish language instruction to grades 1-6  in separate class and/or combined sessions daily
  • Meet regularly with appointed mentor
  • Make observations of children to share with teachers, including social engagements, behaviors of concern
  • Attend faculty meetings when scheduled to do so
  • Provide an end of year report for each class
